Monday Afternoon: Pleneau

Monday afternoon we boarded a Zodiac for a cruise through Pleneau Bay, known as the "Iceberg Graveyard".  Icebergs collect here because of ocean currents and wind, and remain until they finally melt.  Depending on their size, an iceberg may last more than a decade.

Our guide took us through the ever changing maze of icebergs.  They come in every size and shape imaginable.

The iceberg we are approaching is much larger than the Octantis.  Since only 10% of an iceberg appears above the surface of the ocean, it's best to "keep your distance".

At one point, we were lost in the iceberg maze for several minutes.

It was a spectacular afternoon!
